Hello beauties. Today I am sharing with you the blue bombshell Summer Pixie Dust polish “Liberty” from Zoya Nail Polish. It is bright, beachy, sparkly and so much more. Long story short, it is simply beautiful and I had to wear it for almost a week because I couldn’t stop staring at it. Honestly, it would have kept lasting had I not taken it off.
Extreme close-up above. Look at that sparkle! This is a textured polish, so you don’t need to use a top coat. I did not.
This is just two coats of Liberty all on its own, no base polish either. These polishes dry really quickly too, which is an added bonus.
It is so pretty it almost didn’t seem real. I got lots of compliments and comments on it. This was also the first Pixie Dust polish where people noticed it was textured and asked if they could touch my nails. Which was a little weird, but funny too…

Being a California native, I think we can often get incredibly comfortable in our cities of residence. This nail polish reminds me of my son – who is the sunshine of my life. He wakes me up every weekend by coming into the bedroom and saying, “Mama, it is time to wake up. It is a bright sunny day!” That my friends is pretty much this nail polish – short & sweet.
When I received the Summer Pixie Dust collection and then these fabulous bright solids I had to combine these two. Some might think it is an odd pairing but it made me quite happy. Solange is the Pixie Dust polish and I used two coats with no base or top coat. Darcy is three coats in addition to a base and top coat. I did have a little difficulty with Darcy it got a bit thick and streaky on me but that was partially due to my excitement and impatience during application, so I didn’t exactly wait the standard time between coats.
Overall, I think everyone should have yellow and golds in their life for a bright sunny day manicure. Enjoy!

Well, I’ve been keeping up with my new years resolution for this year! In January I started using the BodyMedia Link armband and it has been phenomenal at keeping me on track. Then in March I started using the Peak Fit System and really started to see a difference in my body transformation. Finally at the tail end of March we purchased a ProForm treadmill and I’ve been combining the iPhone Couch to 5k app with the aforementioned fitness regime. I’m not only the smallest and lightest I’ve ever been, but also the most muscular. No more waving arm flaps and thighs touching when I walk. I’ve learned to embrace shorts and skinny jeans!
My husband did an amazing job putting our game room / fitness room together. You can see it in the upper left hand corner of the collage above. We can box, run, lift weights, watch TV, do DVD work outs, and get our active gaming on with the XBOX 360 Kinect.
It’s pretty amazing how much better I feel about myself in general. Shopping has become so much easier, and I’m much more confident when I get dressed every day. Working out and eating right has given me more energy and enthusiasm for life. Now that I’m reaching all of these goals I want to set new ones! I’d like to run a marathon (a 10k to start) the best part is for the first time in my life I not only think I can do it – I KNOW I CAN.
So this is for all of you out there who think you’ll never make it because YOU WILL. Just believe that you can and never give up. I’ve come a long way since being an overweight child, teenager, and another dangerous gain during pregnancy. Don’t let your past be a crutch. You can make every day better than the last one.

The first thing I had to test was the Prime Corrective and Moisture Tints. I am a huge fan of tinted moisturizers, especially those with BB cream quality and sun protection built in. Texturally both products were silky and applied smoothly and evenly. They gave me a fresh light coverage that I look for. Even though I LOVE makeup, I don’t always want to feel “made up” if that makes sense? Showing a little bit of your true self through your cosmetics shows the world that you are highlighting your assets and not trying to hide…
The Creamy Aloe Eye Makeup Remover and Chamomile Cleansing Creme were light and moisturizing. I’ve never used an eye make up remover like this before and it was a nice change. It felt like I was actually doing something good for the skin around my eyes, besides removing the makeup I had on all day. It wasn’t irritating or have any overwhelming scent to it which can really bother my sensitive skin and respiratory system. Using creme cleanser is also different for me. It did remove my makeup flawlessly and left me with a soft glow that I normally don’t have after washing my face.

There are some basic necessities that are crucial to remember to toss into that travel bag before you head out for your getaway.
Pictured above are some of the things I recommend.
- A set of travel brushes. You can find a decent set for a reasonable price at your local Super Store (like Target) This way you won’t ruin your every day brushes being tossed in a travel bag. Plus, these smaller sized brushes come in their own little storage case.
- Tweezers. I take them everywhere. Whether it’s a stray hair that starts to drive you nuts, or a random splinter – this is a good one to have with you in that bag.
- Pre-packaged palette. I like to take an all-in-one palette with me, like the kind from Sephora or e.l.f. This way pretty much everything I need is in one place from blush to shadow to highlighter and lips. Also there is no need to dig through tons of individual products to pick and choose what I want to take. Simple!
- Make-up wipes. I cannot stand taking a ton of beauty washes and lotions with me so I prefer wipes. Plus after running around a new city you are going to want a quick way to clean up and relax in your room.
- Travel sized shampoos and mini flat iron. These are must haves for me, because lots of shampoos cause me crazy frizz in various climates. I prefer to keep my mane in control by knowing I have everything I need with me. The mini flat iron is petite enough for a purse, and is great for those dry shampoo in between blow out kind of days.
- A fresh scented candle will make any room smell like your home away from home. Whether your in the tub or on the bed, you’ll be able to relax with a comforting smell.
- Pint sized sewing kits are essential – just in case you bust a seam, or lose a button.
- Lip balm. Every woman needs lip balm. Need I say more?

Good morning beauties! I just wanted to take a quick moment to share my love for Zoya pixie dust nail polish in Destiny. I’m kind of silly when new polished arrive. I lay them all out and see which one calls out to me. Destiny did and when I saw the name Destiny it was clear that it was meant to be the first of this collection that I wear and share.
This is two coats of Pixie Dust with no base or top coat. This polish was meant to meet this cupcake fragrance in a photo shoot one day. Truly, destiny.

I wanted to share my experience using glasses.com
After my post yesterday sharing my great experience with Walgreens in my area, I had to continue the opportunity to share another great customer service experience I had with this company that my husband discovered.
I’m super picky with my glasses. So much so in fact that I wore the same pair for almost five years straight. Finally my husband decided to log onto glasses.com to pick out five pairs for me to try on because I was procrastinating. (thank you for your TV commercials!)
For free, he was able to choose pairs he thought I might like and send them to our home for free. To be able to keep them for a few days and see them under various lighting (and moods that I have) I was able to choose the pair I wanted. We sent back the 5 trial pairs (again free of charge) and ordered online. I was able to text message my prescription on a weekend night, and get an INSTANT response from customer service. For a minute I thought it was an automated response. Until I said, “thank you” and got a “you’re welcome” response from a real person. That was pretty effing cool…
It stated it would take about 2 weeks to receive them but about 10 days later they arrived.
I chose some HUGE thick nerdy frames which I love. They have transitions and all – non scratch and anti reflective lenses. No need for 2 pairs of glasses when I go out anymore because I am destined to be prescription wearing for the rest of my life. They immediately turned dark in the sun light which was a relief to my sensitive eyes. For less than what a pair was going to cost at my optometrist, I was able to get exactly what I wanted. They took the time and thought process out of it for me. Plus, the added bonus of speedy and friendly service.
For these reasons, I have to highly recommend glasses.com for your eye wear experience.
