My local Walgreens is gorgeous, clean, and has one of the largest Sally Hansen selections to choose from I’ve ever seen.

Here is the main Sally Hansen section on the Beauty Aisle within Walgreens.  There were also various free standing Sally Hansen items all along the aisle.  It was so hard to decide on what to get with all of these options!

This particular set up is what inspired the nail art that was done.  First of all, great deal at 2 polishes for $5.  Don’t forget about the Balance Rewards!

Purchasing was simple.  Set up of the Balance Rewards program was a breeze – there was no paperwork to fill out and Jeanie at the store was an absolute breath of fresh air.  She filled me in on all of the secrets about the points system and how easy it is to rack up points for rewards that can lead to even more significant savings in the future.  Just for signing up and selecting the items I did, I saved 21% off my purchase!

These are the Spring Sally Hansen polishes I chose on their own.  No base or top coat needed with these beauties.

My tip for french manicures is to use a 3 hole punch repair sticker.  They do not peel off your already dry polish.  Just apply with slight pressure and paint the tips.  Then pull off for a clean curvy line that will look like a pro did it.

The nail art pen was so incredibly simple to use.  I created petite Neon Pink sunbursts of dots on top of Sheer Ecstasy.  A hand drawn heart on a clear base.  And thin lines to add a pop on the striped nail.

There is the glitter french tip!  Plus the nail art pain allowed me to do a bold color contrast against the bright green nail.  So fun for Spring!  Now the girls will have plenty of ideas as inspiration to get this #iheartmynailart party started.  What design would you choose?

The favorite look of the day was a combination of Sally Hansen nail polish and thin stripes of the Salon Effects placed in the middle of each nail for a contrast.  Sometimes combining the unexpected can lead to great results.  Don’t be afraid to mix and match.  Having fun is what art is all about.  Your nails are just tiny palettes.

Nail Rock Designer Nail Wraps

(now available at super stores such as Walmart for less than $6!)

These are actually much more thin and flexible than the more expensive version of the Nail Rock decal line.  I want them in every pattern ever made.  This design is putting me in a trance I just want to stare at my nails.  Black and white plus abstract are so in this season.  I would never have the patience to hand paint or tape off a look like this to achieve a nail art design even close to this.  Totally worth the money.  So far I’ve been wearing them for 3 days and there is no peeling!  Even with washing my hands 1000x a day.

They apply like any other simple nail decal.  Peel, apply, and file off excess.

LOVE!!!!!!  I actually saw quite a few patterns at my local Super Walmart.

The actual Pixie Dust product says to apply to bare nails but I trusted that it would be equally fabulous layered over Milani Pearl polish for a half moon effect.  It did just as I expected – a cool layered look that I loved.

I used a quick drying polish as the base coat.  Then when that was dry I applied some of those 3 hole punch paper stickers to cover the “moon” of my nail and painted 2 coats of Vespa over the top to get this look.

Infused with magic and wonder! The latest “must-have” nail polish finish – textured, matte and sparkling! IMPORTANT PixieDust Application Information -  Do not use a base coat or top coat. Apply 1-3 (for full coverage) thin coats of polish. Allow product to dry down completely matte in between layers for full textured effect. The PixieDust textured formula may take up to 10 minutes to dry completely matte. Once dry, the textured finish is long lasting, matte and ultra-glittery!

Here’s Godiva.  A sandy nude.  It is packed with glitter and texture as promised.  I can’t really say anything bad about these polishes other than they are a pain in the you know what to remove.  I’m too lazy to remove the way I am supposed to.  So I now opt for the Elmer’s glue base coat (learned from Pinterest) so I can peel off.  As often as I change my nail polish, it lasts just as long as I need it to.

Here is Zoya London.  Possibly one of the prettiest polishes I have ever worn.  This is two coats.  One layer it appears more on the subtle silver side.  A second coat takes it to this richer grey with a ton of sparkle.  I love it.  Another bonus is it dries REALLY fast.  No need for base or top coat = perfect for a quick fancy manicure.

How perfect are these for Valentine’s Day?!

I am obsessed with the Nail Rock decals.  They are always so bold & fun.

They’re easy to apply.  Thicker than other brand decals, almost the consistency and formula of those that need to be heated on with a blow dryer.  With a foil like sticker backing they are incredibly adhesive.  My only negative comment about them is that they are designed for longer nails.  Naturally, even my longer nails don’t really get to highlight the fun designs on their decals.  However, I still go through the effort to use them because what I can get on my nail – I love.

My awesome husband built me a nail polish table right into the closet of my makeup room.  When this SensatioNail gel system and polishes came they got to be the first polish tested in this new area.  The lamp is a perfect size I can fit all five of my fingers in there to dry.  There is a primer to be applied to the nail when it is clean and dry.  Then a clear coat gets applied and cured as a base and top coat.  I like that it serves a dual purpose!

The first color that jumped out at me was Cool Breeze.  It is almost a periwinkle grey blue that I found myself staring at periodically throughout the days I wore it.  No doubt this manicure would have lasted me two weeks but I am impatient and wanted to try at least one more color before posting this!

I tried to get more adventurous with this one.  It is actually two colors.  Bubbly Champagne as the base coat and then a slightly darker shimmery coral as a heart and polka dots.  The nail art came out textured when it was cured under the lamp which was super cool!

As of late I’ve really taken a step back from doing my nails so often.  Gels give me a chance to still look put together for days on end without chipping and it really doesn’t take me longer than doing a regular manicure because I have no dry time.  For vacations and what not, there is no question this will be the polish I use.  It’ll be nice to know I don’t have to think about my mani while on the road.
